September 25, Vitebsk /Alena Tikhonova - BELTA/. More than 400 combine harvester crews have exceeded the one-thousand-tonne grain yield mark during the harvest campaign in the Vitebsk region, the Agriculture and Food Committee of the Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent.
The yield of 15 crews exceeded 2,000 tonnes, and one crew managed to surpass the 3,000-tonne mark. The leader of the harvest was Igor Boltikov, a combine operator from the foreign private agricultural enterprise "Shtotz Agro-Service Mitkovshchina" in the Orsha district, who harvested 3,005 tonnes of grain on a Lexion-480 combine harvester.
The crew consisting of senior combine operator Alexey Parchevsky and combine operator Igor Klimenkov from OJSC "Agrokombinat Yubileiny" in the Orsha district, operating a KZS-1218 "Polesye" combine harvester, yielded 2,677 tonnes of grain in 2014. This duo of grain growers has been among the prize-winners of republican competitions annually since 2009. The combine operators have secured first, second, and third places among youth crews, were third in the main competition in 2012 and 2013, and are currently in second place this year.
In grain transportation, drivers from Vitebsk, Miory, Dubrovno, Orsha, and Chashniki districts are leading. Alexander Batyan, a driver from OJSC "Yakubovo-Agro" in the Dubrovno district, transported over 5,600 tonnes using a MAZ-551605 truck with a trailer. Nikolay Vitokha, a driver from OJSC "Ivansky-Agro" in the Chashniki district, transported over 4,600 tonnes. Viktor Chernoguzov, a driver from OJSC "Rudakovo" in the Vitebsk district, transported 1,900 tonnes using a GAZ-SAZ-3507 truck, despite its carrying capacity being just over 4 tonnes, which necessitated more than 400 trips.
