In the Vitebsk region, 67% of flax areas have been pulled, the Agriculture and Food Committee of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. As of August 20, 12.2 thousand hectares of flax have been harvested. The daily increase is 2%, or over 400 hectares. A total of 962 tons of this crop have been threshed, and 304 tons of flax straw have been prepared with an average grade of 1.02. Sennensky district was the first in the region to complete flax pulling. Polotsky (92% of areas harvested), Lepelsky and Dubrovensky (82% each) districts are close to finishing this work. Grass harvesting has been somewhat suspended due to difficult weather conditions and the focus on grain harvesting: 62.8% of the second-cut grass areas have been mown. The pace of work per day was 0.6%. 15.85 centners of fodder units have been prepared per conventional head of cattle, with a total of 737.7 thousand tons of fodder units for the region. The main attention of agricultural workers is focused on harvesting grain and leguminous crops. To date, 341.3 thousand hectares, or 69.9% of the areas, have been mown in the region. 1 million 83.7 thousand tons of grain have been threshed with an average yield of 31.8 centners per hectare. The leaders of the harvesting campaign are Chashniksky district, where 91.1% of the areas have already been harvested with a yield of 34.7 centners per hectare, Gluboksky district (85.9%, 31.5 centners per hectare respectively), Lepelsky (79.9%, 30 centners per hectare), Dokshitsky (77.2%, 33 centners per hectare) districts. More than 74% of the areas have also been mown in Beshenkovichsky, Polotsky, Postavsky districts.
