On August 30, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The nomination of candidates for members of the Council of the Republic has concluded in the Vitebsk region, BELTA was informed by the organizational and personnel management department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. Eight candidates have been nominated at joint meetings of the presidiums of district and city councils of deputies and district and city executive committees: Nikolai Konevalov, Director of the subsidiary republican unitary enterprise "Gosstroyexpertiza for the Vitebsk Region"; Alexander Kosinets, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee; Natalia Kochanova, Chairperson of the Novopolotsk City Executive Committee; Nikolai Martynov, Director of the joint limited liability company "Marko"; Vladimir Plytkevich, Chief Physician of the Orsha Central Polyclinic; Alexander Solodkov, Rector of Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov; Anna Shareiko, Director of the open joint-stock company "Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Farm"; and Petr Shershen, General Director of the production republican unitary enterprise "Vitebskoblgaz". According to legislation, the Vitebsk region is to be represented by eight senators in the Council of the Republic. Members of the upper house of parliament will be elected by secret ballot at a meeting of deputies of the basic level local councils of the region. Elections to the Council of the Republic are scheduled to take place from September 6 to September 25 inclusive. -0-
