Vyacheslav Durnov, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, and Valentina Bogatyreva, Chairperson of the Vitebsk Regional Branch of the Belarusian Party "Belaya Rus", dressed as Ded Moroz (Father Frost) and Snegurochka (Snow Maiden), congratulated 20 mothers and their newborn babies on the upcoming New Year.
– It is in such a lively, festive atmosphere, with gifts, that babies spend the first days of their lives. May the holiday always reign in your hearts, and may your children bring you joy, – Vyacheslav Durnov addressed the mothers.
A large number of gifts were brought to the maternity hospital, which will help mothers care for their children, as well as for themselves.
– It is always a pleasure to give gifts on New Year's. They lift spirits and bring joy to mothers and babies, – noted Valentina Bogatyreva.
Gifts and congratulations were also received by the mothers and babies from Andrey Lyubimov, Head of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Mikhail Vishnevetsky, Head of the Main Department for Healthcare of the Regional Executive Committee, and representatives of other organisations and institutions of the city.
– Currently, 65% of women giving birth are those who came to the healthcare facility for their second or third child. This indicates that our people are confident in the future, they are building families and having children because all the necessary conditions are created for this in our country, – noted Elena Leonovich, Chief Physician of the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Maternity Hospital.
For example, Ekaterina Vasinkevich, a resident of Dokshitsy, became a mother for the fifth time yesterday. The baby girl was named Victoria. Her siblings – 20-year-old Anton, 18-year-old Daria, 8-year-old Karina, and 4-year-old Alexander – are eagerly awaiting their sister at home.
– All my other children have birthdays in spring and autumn, and this is the first time a girl has been born just before the New Year. Now we will celebrate several holidays in winter, – said the mother of many children. – This is not my first time giving birth in this maternity hospital; the staff here are wonderful, and the conditions are good. Therefore, I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone!
Elena Matyushonok from Senno will also be celebrating the New Year in the maternity hospital for the first time, but she is not upset at all, because, according to her, a child is the best gift for a lifetime.
– Four years ago, I gave birth to my first son, Viktor, and on December 27th, my second son. I named him Alexander. I am very happy, my mood is excellent, and I feel comfortable here, although I miss home, and my husband and son are eagerly awaiting our return, – shared Elena Matyushonok.
