A branch of the regional clinical centre for dermatovenereology and cosmetology has opened after reconstruction in the agro-town of Babinichi, Vitebsk District.
– The building of the former nursing care hospital has been given a new lease of life by being repurposed into a regional clinical centre for dermatovenereology and cosmetology. Its opening on the eve of National Unity Day once again proves that only together can we achieve something worthwhile, – emphasised the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin. – Its convenient location in a picturesque area near the city will allow patients to receive necessary services and undergo treatment in comfort. Currently, the facility has been modernised internally; the next stage will involve facade finishing, landscaping, and further equipping with high-tech equipment. I am confident that the centre will be one of the leading not only in the region but also in the country.
The Head of the Main Department for Healthcare of the Regional Executive Committee, Mikhail Vishnevetsky, noted that two years ago, a decision was made to organise inpatient care for patients in one location, as the centre's services were scattered across the city.
– The dermatovenereology centre is the only one in the Vitebsk Region. Day hospitals remain in Orsha, Polotsk, and Novopolotsk, – Mikhail Vishnevetsky remarked. – In Babinichi, inpatient care has been organised for people requiring 24/7 treatment and monitoring. Worthy conditions have been created here, both for patient stays and for the medical staff's work.
Repairs have been carried out in the building, and furniture and equipment for the 1st and 2nd dermatovenereology departments have been purchased at a cost of approximately 1 million rubles. A total of 80 beds have been allocated for patient stays, including 10 paediatric beds. A playroom, a shower, a toilet, and a staff room have been equipped.
– This is a long-awaited gift, – emphasised the Chief Physician of the Regional Clinical Centre for Dermatovenereology and Cosmetology, Nana Nadirashvili. – This is the first large building where all services are consolidated in one place: the 1st and 2nd dermatovenereology departments. Previously, three major centralised laboratories (serological, clinical diagnostic, and microbiological) moved here, as well as the centralised sterilisation department and the medical rehabilitation department. Our department and specialists, who are in demand not only locally but also abroad, will also be located here.
