Vitebsk region farms will receive 100 new combine harvesters this week and next, Mikhail Pridibaylo, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee's Agriculture and Food Committee, informed journalists.

Currently, the region's agro-industrial complex has 1,368 grain harvesting combine harvesters. More than half of them have already reached the end of their depreciation period. Recently, a government decision was made to supply Vitebsk region with 100 combine harvesters manufactured by Gomselmash. "This is a significant fleet renewal, which will allow us to speed up the harvest. As of today, the region has harvested 57% (over 760 thousand tons) of all cultivated areas. The new combine harvesters will be sent to districts where it is necessary to increase the pace of the campaign. The first batch of equipment will go to Senno, Liozno, and Vitebsk districts," said Mikhail Pridibaylo.

He added that the average grain yield in the region is 33 centners per hectare. There will be more grain than last year.

Today, the first batch of six grain harvesting combine harvesters was handed over to the farms of Vitebsk Meat Processing Plant OJSC. The equipment was purchased through the agro-industrial leasing system.
