The silver medalist of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Vadim Devyatovsky, intends to positively resolve the issue of his participation in the 2012 London Summer Olympics next spring. The athlete announced this to journalists today, responding to a question from a BELTA correspondent. "I will try not to delay obtaining an Olympic license and will resolve this issue in the spring of 2012," said Vadim Devyatovsky. Winning a license may occur during one of the international athletics tournaments or Grand Prix events, but Vadim has not yet specified the exact competitions he will participate in. This will be the athlete's first appearance in official competitions after a forced break caused by legal proceedings with the IOC. "I am constantly training, I have no technical problems, and I hope I have remained a fighter," Vadim Devyatovsky added confidently. Previously, the athlete considered the possibility of participating in the 2011 World Championships, which will be held from August 27 to September 4 in South Korea. However, based on the results of an in-depth medical examination, doctors advised the athlete to postpone this performance and concentrate on future Olympic starts. The intensive preparation for the 2008 Olympics, as well as the subsequent legal battle to reclaim his Olympic medal, which required a full mobilization of moral and volitional qualities, have taken their toll, explained Vadim Devyatovsky. The main goal for Vadim Devyatovsky's participation in the 2012 Olympics is to win a medal.
