On the occasion of the commencement of the second half of the training year for the young recruits at the 19th Guards Independent Mechanized Brigade, a festive rally was held. Officers of the unit and soldiers undergoing compulsory service formed neat ranks on the parade ground. To the brisk sounds of the brass band, the brigade's flag was brought out. The state anthem of the Republic of Belarus was played. The brigade commander, Guards Colonel Nikolai Miklashevich, addressed the servicemen with warm words of welcome. The former commander of the tank division stationed in Zalonia, Alexey Platonov, conveyed his best wishes to the soldiers. The recruits were heartily congratulated by the Chairman of the Lepel District Organisation of the Public Association "Belarusian Union of Officers", Vitaly Franchuk, and the Deputy Chairman of the Zalonia Primary Organisation of the Public Association "Belarusian Union of War Veterans of Afghanistan", Valentin Svyatogor.
The unit commander's order to commence the festive march was given, and columns of servicemen and soldiers undergoing compulsory service marched across the parade ground in brisk step, one after another. Following a cherished tradition, the priest of the Church of Venerable Joseph Volotsky the Miracle Worker, Hieromonk Vladimir, blessed the warriors.
