The gross regional product (GRP) of the Vitebsk region, based on the results of January-July 2012, increased by 19.9% in comparable prices compared to the same period last year. This was reported to BELTA correspondent by the National Statistical Committee. The GRP index of the Vitebsk region is the highest among other regions of the republic, Belstat noted. In the Minsk region, this indicator for seven months was 106.2%, in the Grodno region - 103.5%, Mogilev region - 103.2%, Gomel region - 102.2%, and the city of Minsk - 101.8%. The gross regional product of the Brest region decreased by 2% compared to the same period last year. According to Belstat, Minsk's GRP accounts for the largest share in the republic's gross domestic product - 22.9%. The share of the Minsk region's GRP in Belarus's GDP is 13.8%, Gomel region - 13.6%, Vitebsk region - 11.4%, Brest region - 8.3%, Grodno region - 7.4%, and Mogilev region - 7.3%. The undistributed part of the gross regional product accounts for 15.3%. This part of the GRP represents the gross value added of non-market services provided by government organizations to society as a whole (defence, public administration services), and other non-market services financed from the republican budget. It also includes the gross value added of the unobserved economy, taxes on products paid into the republican budget, and subsidies on products provided from the republican budget. According to Belstat, for the seven months of 2012, the volume of Belarus's gross domestic product amounted to Br264.8 trillion in current prices, an increase of 2.8% in comparable prices compared to January-July 2011. The share of gross value added from industry in GDP was 36.9%, trade, repair of motor vehicles, household goods and personal items - 11.2%, transport and communications - 7.6%, construction - 6.4%, agriculture, hunting and forestry - 6.6%. -0-
