26 September, Vitebsk /Alena Tikhonova - BELTA/. The grain harvest in the farms of the Vitebsk region amounted to almost 1.1 million tonnes. The best agricultural workers of the Vitebsk region, who made a significant contribution to the overall harvest, will travel today to the republican festival-fair "Dazhynki-2013" in Zhlobin. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent at the regional executive committee.
Participants of the republican festival-fair will include combine operators, drivers, grain drying complex operators, chief agronomists and engineers, farmers, and heads of agricultural enterprises and districts of the region. The delegation will be led by the Governor of the region, Alexander Kosinets.

As emphasized at the regional executive committee, the main objective of the agro-industrial complex of the Vitebsk region in 2013 is to increase the efficiency of agricultural production. Currently, optimization of agricultural organizations is underway, which will allow concentrating the main production of products in the future at 170 large agricultural enterprises, each of which will have at least 7 thousand hectares of arable land. Over the past four years, agricultural producers have received 10.8 thousand units of equipment worth over Br2.5 trillion, including 1,372 tractors (of which 730 are high-powered), 1,389 grain harvesting and 395 forage harvesting combines, and other machinery. 91 modern high-performance grain cleaning and drying complexes are operational in the region's organizations, and 5 lines for grain processing are in operation to produce quality seeds.
