President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko received a report from Igor Shunevich, head of the Republican Public Association "Belarusian Society of Hunters and Fishermen", and Leonid Zayats, Deputy Prime Minister overseeing this sector, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

The Head of State emphasized the significant importance of the society. "Probably more than any state structure. Because it is the most important resource of the state. A few words with a fresh perspective. How are you doing there, what is the situation, what is needed to activate this work?" Alexander Lukashenko inquired.

He noted that a proposal is being made to consider the establishment of a Museum of Hunting and Fishing. "We will also need to look into this matter. Well, if they are not asking for money, why should we be against it. I think we should agree," the President said.

"Another issue known for a long time is the fight against African swine fever. Hunters should be involved if necessary. You are aware of the situation, there is nothing to be afraid of. And regarding some compensation mechanisms for the hunting of wild boars (wild boars are the main carriers of this disease dangerous to the pig farming industry. - BELTA's note) and so on," the Head of State outlined the topic.

"In general, it is a complex of issues that will need to be resolved. Please, I want you to present this topic. And other issues that are subject to discussion," the Belarusian leader added.
