The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds you what to do if a person's clothes catch fire:
- extinguish the flame with water or try to beat out the fire with a blanket or thick cloth, roll the burning person on the ground to extinguish the flames. If this does not work, tear off the burning clothes from the person.
- after extinguishing the fire, cut away the smouldering clothes and remove them, trying not to damage the burnt surface.
- apply a bandage of gauze or clean cloth to the affected areas.
- in case of extensive burns, wrap the victim in a clean sheet, urgently call an ambulance by dialling 103 or take them to the nearest medical facility.
