Vitaly Novitsky, press secretary of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus, told a BELTA correspondent about the ordinary and extraordinary work of air rescuers. In May of this year, a Mi-8 helicopter of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus was once again sent on a business trip to Turkey to extinguish forest fires. According to preliminary agreement, the crew with the combat vehicle will work until the end of September. Flight time has already reached 55 hours. As Vitaly Novitsky noted, Belarusian firefighters have been assisting their colleagues from the Republic of Turkey for several years and always receive gratitude and high praise for their activities. And quite recently, a Mi-26 helicopter of Belarusian rescuers took part in the filming of the Hollywood action movie "Die Hard 5". According to the terms of the contract, until the premiere, which is scheduled for February 2013, the rescuers cannot talk about their role. But the filming left many pleasant memories. At the same time, the helicopter not only became an actor. It will also perform a more familiar task - to transport the fuselage of an airplane to the location of the next filming at a distance of approximately 70-80 km at the request of the creators of the fifth "Die Hard". According to Vitaly Novitsky, similar operations have only been performed once in the world.
