February 19, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. Open Joint Stock Company "Verkhnedvinsk Dairy and Cheese Plant" will reconstruct its wastewater treatment facilities in 2014-2015, the enterprise informed a BELTA correspondent.
The project cost is Br35-40 billion. In accordance with it, the wastewater treatment facilities are planned to be expanded from 500 cubic meters to 1.7 thousand cubic meters, which is due to an increase in the volume of wastewater discharge. Currently, the enterprise is accepting tender proposals. The development of design and estimate documentation is planned to commence in the second half of the year, and construction work is scheduled to begin at the end of 2014 - early 2015. The project completion is scheduled for 2015.
The increase in water consumption, associated with the expansion of the dairy and cheese plant, has led to another interconnected project – the construction of two water intake wells for technical needs with an investment volume of Br8 billion.
In January 2014, the enterprise produced products worth Br35 billion, which is 40% more than the same period last year. Sales profitability for 2013 was 13.3%. Products worth $23.5 million were supplied for export to Russia and Kazakhstan, with a growth rate of 114.4% compared to 2012.
The successful development of the Verkhnedvinsk Dairy and Cheese Plant is due to the high quality of its products, which is highly valued by consumers and regularly confirmed by awards at prestigious professional competitions, specialists emphasized. For instance, at the beginning of this year, the OJSC received a gold medal at the international exhibition of food, beverages, and raw materials for their production "Prodexpo-2014" in Moscow. The Verkhnedvinsk cheeses "Stary Monakh" (50% fat) and "Gouda Grand" (45% fat) were highly praised by the expert commission out of 1.5 thousand samples presented.
The enterprise was founded in 1932. It specializes in the production of natural dairy products: rennet cheeses, cow's butter, and dry demineralized whey. Their annual production capacity is 5 thousand tons, 1,050 tons, and 3.2 thousand tons, respectively. The products are marketed under the brands "Yan Sirodel" and Prince "Algird".
