Spring hunting season for capercaillie and black grouse

The Lepel Inter-district Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora reminds that in accordance with the Hunting Rules and the Rules for Hunting Management, the hunting season for male capercaillie and black grouse begins on March 20 and will last until May 10.

The Lepel Inter-district Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora reminds that in accordance with the Hunting Rules and the Rules for Hunting Management, the hunting season for male capercaillie and black grouse begins on March 20 and will last until May 10. Capercaillie and black grouse are classified as regulated game species; therefore, to hunt them, you must contact the hunting grounds user and obtain not only a permit but also a hunting license.

Hunting is permitted only between 3 AM and 9 AM. The hunting methods allowed are: by firearm at the lek, stalking, and from a hide. Rifled hunting weapons, smooth-bore hunting weapons using shot cartridges, hunting bows, and crossbows may be used (in accordance with the rules).
