On October 6, Minsk /BelTA correspondent/. Strong winds tore off the roof of St. Sophia Cathedral in Polotsk today, the duty officer of the Belarusian Ministry of Emergency Situations told BelTA. According to him, the wind, with gusts reaching 28 meters per second, damaged about 300 sq.m. of the cathedral's roof. The wind also cut off power to about a hundred settlements in Vitebsk, Grodno, Minsk, and Mogilev regions. At the same time, according to the duty officer, the Vitebsk region suffered the most. -0-
