Veterans in Belarus will receive financial assistance in connection with the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Soviet people's victory in the Great Patriotic War. The corresponding decree No. 126 "On rendering financial assistance" was signed by the President of Belarus on March 18, BELTA was informed by the press service of the head of state.

Veterans in Belarus will receive financial assistance in connection with the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Soviet people's victory in the Great Patriotic War. The corresponding decree No. 126 "On rendering financial assistance" was signed by the President of Belarus on March 18, BELTA was informed by the press service of the head of state.

In particular, the document provides for rendering one-time financial assistance in the amount of Br10 million to Heroes of the Soviet Union, persons awarded with the Order of Glory of three degrees, Heroes of Socialist Labour, who were awarded this title for merits during the Great Patriotic War.

Assistance in the amount of Br8 million will be provided to disabled persons and participants of the Great Patriotic War who took part in the defence of the Fatherland until September 3, 1945, as well as persons who participated in special formations in demining territories and facilities after liberation from German occupation in 1943-1945.

Persons awarded with orders or medals of the USSR for selfless work and impeccable military service in the rear during the Great Patriotic War, persons who worked at facilities within the rear boundaries of active fronts, as well as other categories of citizens affected by the consequences of the war, will be provided with financial assistance in the amount of Br3.5 million.

Financial assistance will be paid from April 1 to May 1, 2015.
