13 August, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Anyone can now take a virtual tour of the Marc Chagall House-Museum in Vitebsk, Director of the Museum Lyudmila Khmelnytskaya told a BELTA correspondent. To do this, simply visit the museum's homepage on the Internet and find the "Virtual Tour" section. An invisible guide will lead the home-bound traveller through the old streets of Vitebsk associated with Chagall's name – the current Kirova Street, which was called "Vokzalnaya" in Chagall's time; Revolutsyonnaya Street, which the artist remembered as Bolshaya and Malaya Ilyinskaya; and, of course, his native Pokrovskaya Street. The artist's house-museum is located here, and each room is also open for virtual viewing. Just like on a real tour of the house-museum, after viewing the exhibition, the tourist will proceed to the inner courtyard where Chagall's apple trees grow and a monument to the master by Vitebsk sculptor Valery Moguchiy is located. The virtual traveller is also provided with another opportunity: to watch the documentary film "Welcome Back, Mark Zakharovich". The project, timed to the year of the 125th anniversary of Marc Chagall's birth, was implemented by the museum in conjunction with Valery Kulenenok, Associate Professor, Head of the Design Department at Vitebsk State University named after P. Masherov, and a member of the Belarusian Union of Designers. Lyudmila Khmelnytskaya hopes that the virtual tour will not only introduce everyone interested to the museum's exhibition but also encourage tourists to visit Vitebsk and the house-museum of the famous artist in person.
