9 November, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. Residents of Vitebsk will be able to see Latvia from a bird's-eye view, the "Vitebsk" Cultural Centre informed BELTA. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, in conjunction with the "Vitebsk" Cultural Centre and its branch "Centre of National Cultures", is organising an exhibition with the intriguing title - "Latvia from a Bird's-Eye View". Its presentation will take place on 12 November in the "Vitebsk" Concert Hall. The author of the works is photo artist Juris Kalnins, who has been engaged in aerial photography since 1995. The exhibition includes 25 works. This is only a small fraction of the artist's aerial photographs, created over ten years from perspectives revealed during flights by hot air balloon, helicopter, and aeroplane. The exhibition focuses on the beauty of Latvian nature: the Baltic Sea, rivers, lakes, forests, meadows, and fields, captured by the photographer in all four seasons - spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to see Latvia's fateful river Daugava, the ancient Gauja river valley, the land of blue lakes Latgale, as well as one of Latvia's small towns Kuldīga with its ancient brick bridge over the Venta River and Europe's widest waterfall. A separate part of the exhibition is dedicated to Latvia's capital Riga and its famous landmarks. The exhibition, organised as part of the Days of Latvia in Vitebsk, can be viewed until 16 November.-0-
