On September 6, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. An exhibition by renowned Israeli photo artist Leonid Padrul will open on September 7 at the Vitebsk Regional Museum of Local Lore, the cultural institution informed a BELTA correspondent. The exhibition "Shadow of Jerusalem" features 29 photographic works created without any computer processing. Each piece is dedicated to biblical history with all its contradictions, passions, and the search for eternal values. Through magnificent landscapes of Jerusalem and the Dead Sea, the author presents the sacred light of the ancient city as the centre of the universe, contrasted with darkness, the sinister, sinful side of life. The extraordinary beauty of the photographs captivates the viewer, drawing them into an endless dialogue about the essence of existence. "This is precisely the goal the artist pursues: through landscapes, to address the inner world of a person, to engage them with the history of events that occurred in biblical times in the land of Israel and are happening in modern Israel," the museum noted. The exhibition has been prepared by the Embassy of the State of Israel in Belarus. Residents of Minsk and other Belarusian cities have already had the opportunity to view it. Vitebsk residents will be able to see the exhibition until October 7. Leonid Padrul, a photo artist and member of the International Federation of Photographic Art under UNESCO, lives and works in Israel, where he heads the photography department of the Eretz Israel Museum in Tel Aviv, the country's largest archaeological museum. He is one of the foremost masters of creating highly complex landscapes. His works from the "Dead Sea Landscapes" series have been published in leading photo magazines in Israel, Russia, Thailand, Denmark, and the Czech Republic, as well as in National Geographic magazine. A film about the photographer and his project has been made for the "Nature" TV channel. -0-
