Vitebsk resident and his mother-in-law ran pornographic websites for three years

On April 28, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. A Vitebsk resident and his mother-in-law ran pornographic websites for three years, Anton Zykov, senior assistant prosecutor of the Zheleznodorozhny District of Vitebsk, told a BELTA correspondent. Since 2007, a modest employee of a private furniture company in the regional center, who had extensive knowledge of computer technology, had been developing, populating, and updating ten websites with pornographic content. The time-consuming process was joined by the young man, born in 1986, who involved his mother-in-law, a sales manager. The active activities of the team of professionals attracted the attention of Interpol officers in 2010: signals about the distribution of pornographic materials on the Internet began to be received by the law enforcement agencies of Belarus from neighboring countries and even from Germany. The investigation into the activities of the family business took almost a year, and the criminal case, initiated under Article 343, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, comprised 12 volumes. For the production, storage for the purpose of distribution, and advertising of pornographic materials and images, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy using the Internet, the man and his 44-year-old mother-in-law were sentenced to three and two years of imprisonment, respectively, with a suspension of the sentence for one year and six months.
