5 November, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. A Vitebsk resident has been sentenced to seven years in prison for drug trafficking, BELTA was informed by the official representative of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus for the Vitebsk region, Inna Gorbacheva.
The twenty-year-old Vitebsk resident, a student at a Russian university, illegally acquired 44g of a dangerous narcotic drug, marijuana, while in her hometown. For the purpose of further sale, she divided it into approximately equal portions in 30 paper bags, which she then carried in her backpack around the city and sold to acquaintances.
For the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors, the Pervomaisky District Court sentenced the woman to seven years of imprisonment under Part 3 of Article 328 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. At the same time, the accused had previously been prosecuted for a crime provided for by the same article, Inna Gorbacheva noted. -0-
