23 May, Vitebsk /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Vitebsk and Orsha are preparing to welcome participants of the Union State cycling rally "Youth of Russia and Belarus - Road to the Future of the Union State," as reported to BELTA by Valeriy Kunashko, Head of the Youth Affairs Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
The cycling rally is dedicated to another anniversary of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. The organisation of joint youth events between Russia and Belarus is one of the key areas for fostering spiritual and moral values in young people, promoting creative engagement, developing cultural ties within the youth environment, and nurturing patriotic education, the source emphasised. The cycling rally commences in the Smolensk region. In Belarus, it will traverse the territories of three regions – Vitebsk, Mogilev, and Minsk – and will conclude on 27 May at the Mound of Glory. Approximately 60 participants, aged between 18 and 35, will take part in the cycling rally.
On 24 May, the Vitebsk region will be the first of the Belarusian regions to welcome the participants of this interstate youth initiative. In Vitebsk, the young people will rest and then proceed to Orsha the following day, where they will visit a military memorial and participate in a practical seminar titled "Development of the Creative and Intellectual Potential of the Youth of the Union State." Subsequently, their route will lead them to Mogilev, Berezino, and Borisov. Here, they are expected to meet with veterans of the Great Patriotic War and visit the "Brileva Field" memorial. -0-
