14 June, Vitebsk /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Vitebsk proposes to partner cities the creation of an Internet Network of Cities. The project presentation will take place at the international investment forum in Vitebsk, Elena Zhuravleva, Head of the Economics Department of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, told a BELTA correspondent. The project envisages the creation of web pages about partner cities with information useful and necessary for a wide range of users: from curious tourists to serious businessmen. The first participants of the network were the Latvian cities of Daugavpils and Valmiera. This will not be the only project of the investment forum that will interest guests, Elena Zhuravleva is confident. Pharmaceutical enterprises, OJSC "Dolomit", and meat and dairy industry enterprises will present their projects at the forum. Exhibition samples of products from the textile industry enterprises of Vitebsk will be available not only for viewing but also for purchase. Business entities of the region will participate in the exhibition along with Vitebsk enterprises. During the investment forum, a contact and cooperation exchange will be organised for signing protocols, agreements, and action plans for cooperation. According to Elena Zhuravleva, partner cities, foreign delegations, and guests, including those from Haskovo (Bulgaria), Rezekne (Latvia), Zielona Góra (Poland), Stupino, Smolensk (Russian Federation), and representatives of foreign embassies in Belarus, have shown interest in the forum. The international investment forum will be held in Vitebsk on 25 June, timed to coincide with the celebration of the 1038th anniversary of the city's founding.-0-
