The Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic will celebrate the start of the new concert season with a tribute programme "We are from Vitebsk" on September 21, as reported to BelTA correspondent by the Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic.
The official opening of the next season at the philharmonic is in October, and the entire month of September serves as an overture with musicals for children and thematic programmes. Among these this year, one of the first events announced is a festive concert where soloists of the philharmonic will immerse the audience in the atmosphere of the old city, where the geniuses of the Vitebsk land lived and worked.
"The words 'small homeland' evoke a special, heartfelt response in each of us. It is the place where a person was born and grew up, where they were shaped. The festive concert 'We are from Vitebsk' will be a portal to the past, where our most famous and renowned natives were just beginning their difficult journey to worldwide fame. Rewinding the tape of time, we will remember artists and writers, musicians and painters, figures of science and arts. All those nurtured by the talent-rich Vitebsk land," the philharmonic reported. This evening, the familiar and beloved songs "Za togo parnya" (For That Guy), "Mir bez lyubimogo" (A World Without a Loved One), "Zazhzhite svechi" (Light the Candles), and many others that resonate with people of various nationalities will be performed.
Several other concerts are scheduled for the September programme. On September 8, young listeners are invited to the musical and theatrical programme "Vitamine's Journey". On September 15, they can attend the musical "The Golden Chick". On September 22, the small hall of the philharmonic will launch a new season of the musical meeting series for expectant mothers, "Weaving the Soul from Notes". On September 28, the participants of the TV project "League of Amazing People" – the balalaika octet "Vitebsk Virtuosos" – together with the soloists of the philharmonic, will present their best compositions to the audience. And on September 29, the musical and educational programme "Visiting the King" will introduce children to the history of origin, structure, and technical capabilities of the most grandiose and majestic of musical instruments – the organ.
