2 October, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. Vitebsk and Grodno regions are leading in potato harvesting, BELTA was informed at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. According to data as of October 2, the task here has been completed by 72.5% and 68.7% respectively.
In total, agricultural enterprises of Belarus have harvested potatoes from 33.7 thousand hectares, which is more than 61% of the area to be harvested. Over 825 thousand tons of potatoes have been dug up with an average yield of 245.2 centners per hectare. The highest indicators are in Grodno, Mogilev and Minsk regions - on average, 276.3, 269 and 260.2 centners of potatoes are harvested per hectare here.
Farms of the republic have dug up about 121 thousand tons of potatoes with a yield of 270.6 centners per hectare.
Over 105.5 thousand tons of potatoes have been stored for seeds. This is more than 36% of the target. -0-
