On April 21, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The Vitebsk region, according to preliminary data, will transfer about Br4.5 billion to the republican subbotnik fund, BELTA was informed by the Economics Committee of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
It is expected that half a million residents of the Dvina region will take part in the subbotnik: employees of enterprises and organizations, students, public activists, and pensioners. On the day of the republican subbotnik, enterprises of the Vitebsk region intend to produce industrial products worth almost Br10 billion. According to preliminary data, the volume of contract work to be performed by volunteers is estimated at Br2 billion.
Volunteers will be involved in the improvement of social facilities and the cleaning of territories. Among the main subbotnik sites, the Committee named the Park of Winners and the "Marko-City" shopping and entertainment center in Vitebsk. In the Beshenkovichi district, the main focus will be on the Ostrovenskaya Station of Young Technicians, and in the Vitebsk district - the Voronovsky boarding school. It is planned that during the subbotnik, utility workers, together with residents, will plant 2.5 thousand trees and 3.6 thousand shrubs on the adjacent territories and in the yards alone. The region's forests will also become cleaner: it is planned to clean 23 hectares of forest areas near roads, summer cottage settlements, and populated areas from garbage. Foresters of the region plan to plant more than 400 hectares of new forests.
The main site of the republican subbotnik in Vitebsk will be the Park of Winners. About 1,000 people will be involved in its improvement today. Employees of enterprises and organizations of the city, officials, and members of the BRSM will come to the aid of builders and landscapers.
Ancient Polotsk, which celebrates its 1150th anniversary this year, intends to produce industrial products, goods and services, and perform contract work worth more than Br600 million on the day of the subbotnik. Over 30,000 citizens will work at their workplaces or be involved in improving territories and preparing the city for festive celebrations. The youth of Polotsk intend to tidy up 15 monuments and memorials to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War.
Residents of Glubokoye, the capital of the Day of Belarusian Written Language 2012, will also actively participate in the subbotnik. Almost 17,000 people will be involved in improving the facilities for the upcoming holiday, tidying up populated areas, and working at their workplaces - in the fields and livestock farms. Glubokoye residents intend to earn Br285.5 million on this day. -0-
