"Rapeseed sowing is being carried out by half of the region's districts. Approximately 2,000 hectares have been sown, which constitutes 2.5% of the plan," the committee stated. "One of the farms in Vitebsk district has begun planting early cabbage."
The main task currently is the sowing of grain crops. Farms in all districts have joined the effort. Over 22.4 thousand hectares have been sown, representing 10.5% of the area allocated for spring grain crops. Agricultural producers in Dubrovno district are leading the sowing campaign, with seed drills having covered 46.5% of their fields.
The total sown area in the region is 798 thousand hectares. Approximately half of the arable land is dedicated to grain crops (winter crops occupy about 187 thousand hectares, while spring and leguminous crops are planned for sowing on 212 thousand hectares). Rapeseed (winter and spring) will be cultivated on 105 thousand hectares.
