Farms of the Vitebsk region plan to complete all field agricultural work by the end of October, the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. Thus, within the next two days, the potato harvest will be completed. As of October 25, this crop has been harvested from 99.6% of the areas. All districts have completed work in the potato field, with the exception of Vitebsk, where the largest areas in the region are allocated for potatoes, with less than 30 hectares remaining to be harvested. In total, over 133.4 thousand tons of potatoes have been dug up in the region with an average yield of 207.3 cwt/ha. The largest contribution to the regional potato indicator was made by the farms of Tolochin (almost 32.6 thousand tons dug up), Vitebsk (about 25 thousand tons), and Polotsk (about 10 thousand tons) districts. In these districts, as well as in Shumilino, potato yields exceeded 200 cwt/ha, with specialists from the Tolochin Cannery achieving a yield of 527.7 cwt/ha. Vegetable crops have been harvested from 95.3% of the areas. Thus, four districts of the region are completing the cabbage harvest - they have less than 13% of the areas left to harvest. In total, almost 9 thousand tons of cabbage have been harvested with an average yield of 368.1 cwt/ha. Only the Vitebsk district has sugar beet and carrots left to harvest. The region's agrarians intend to deal with fodder corn by the end of this week, the harvest of which is being completed by farms in nine districts. In total, this crop has been harvested from an area of almost 103 thousand hectares, which is 98.7% of the plan. The gross yield of green mass is reaching 3.5 million tons with an average yield of almost 340 cwt/ha. In addition, over 1.2 thousand hectares of corn crops have been harvested for grain, with over 9.7 thousand tons threshed at an average yield of 77.1 cwt/ha. In total, 1.35 million tons of feed units have been procured, which is 106.3% of the target. The feed supply per conventional head is approaching 29.2 cwt.-0-
