The Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic has prepared a festive programme "Music Beyond Time" for the 10th anniversary of its pipe organ, BELTA was informed by the cultural institution.
The anniversary concert is scheduled for October 19. One of Russia's finest organists, laureate of international competitions, and organist of the Kaliningrad Cathedral, Evgeny Avramenko, will perform at the Philharmonic. The "Music Beyond Time" programme will feature works by Bach, Vivaldi, Bohlmann, and others. The concert will also feature the academic choir of the Ivan Sollertinsky Vitebsk State Musical College, as well as Philharmonic soloists Vladislav Mitsenko (violin) and Elena Grakova (soprano).
The pipe organ by the German firm Glatter-Gotz was installed at the Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic in 2007. It is the third organ in Belarus (after the Belarusian State Philharmonic and the Saint Sophia Cathedral of the Polotsk National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve) located outside a religious institution. A distinctive constructive feature of the Vitebsk organ is the combination of the sound of French late Romantic instruments and a German Romantic organ. The intonation of this king of instruments was carried out by the French organ master Jean-François Dupont. The instrument has 36 stops, allowing for the performance of music of any style and genre.
Over ten years, more than one hundred organ concerts have been held with the participation of performers from over twenty countries.
