30 September, Vitebsk /Alena Tikhonova - BELTA/. The Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic will open its XXV concert season on the International Day of Music – October 1, the institution informed a BELTA correspondent.
The first event will be a concert by the State Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus (artistic director and chief conductor – Honoured Artist of Russia Evgeny Bushkov). The programme includes works by Mozart, Grieg, Britten, Mendelssohn, and Rossini.
The concert season will feature prominent events such as the jubilee XXV I.I. Sollertinsky International Music Festival and the premiere of a new programme by the symphony orchestra of the regional philharmonic (the ensemble is currently rehearsing with invited conductor Pavel Lyubomudrov from St. Petersburg). In addition, projects such as "Christmas Academy", concerts for expectant mothers "Weaving the Soul from Notes", "Latvian Musical Evenings", and organ music concerts will be continued.
For children, the philharmonic artists have prepared a light-hearted discussion about serious music – the musical and educational programme "Music Box".
The finale of the XXV season will be a grand jubilee concert, which will take place in Vitebsk on May 22 – the day the regional philharmonic was established. -0-
