"Vitebsk Snowflake" is the oldest festival in Vitebsk and the oldest dance tournament in Belarus. Dance duets from Belarus, Germany, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, and other countries will perform on the main stage and in the round hall of the Vitebsk Concert Hall. For the first time this year, athletes from the Philippines and Switzerland will participate. "In total, we expect representatives from 23 countries, with 3 of them still pending confirmation. These are dancers from all seven age groups, from children to seniors.
Our judging panel is also international and highly representative, comprising members from 13 countries. While this is familiar for adults and youth, as they constantly work for points in the world rankings, for many children, such a high level will be a new experience," explained Natalia Tovstasheva.
She noted that the current tournament is not an anniversary one and no demonstration performances with invited guests are planned. However, the competitive part promises to be so spectacular (leading dancers from their countries will attend) that the audience will be treated to an impressive show. And the organizers are preparing some surprise for the opening. On the first day, participants will showcase routines in the Latin American program, and on the next day – in the European program. The youngest couples (children under 11 years old) will also present combined "Standard + Latin" programs to the jury. During this short period, "Vitebsk Snowflake" will whirl friends-rivals in dance and the sparkle of ballroom attire and, perhaps, draw some of the young spectators into this amazing world of either sport or art.
