On November 15, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Vitebsk Customs processes 77% of customs documents in the electronic declaration system, as reported to a BELTA correspondent by the department of customs control organisation of Vitebsk Customs, summarising the results of work for the first 9 months of the current year. Based on the results of work for January-September, Vitebsk Customs achieved a percentage ratio of customs documents processed in the electronic declaration system to the total number of customs documents processed, excluding the customs transit procedure, at the level of 77%. At the same time, the export customs procedure is processed electronically in 95.3%, re-export - in 94.3%, release for domestic consumption - in 61.7%. As explained by specialists, the National Automated System of Electronic Declaration (NASED) used by the customs authorities of Belarus includes the performance of customs operations related to placing goods under customs procedures using electronic customs documents. Electronic declaration allows for reducing the time of customs operations through the electronic exchange of information between foreign economic activity participants and the customs authorities of Belarus. In addition, it is a practical application of the declarative principle, which consists in the release of goods based on the information contained in the electronic customs declaration. Significant benefits of electronic declarations are the transparency of the process of customs operations concerning goods, and the reduction of time and financial costs for foreign economic activity participants associated with customs operations. The exclusion of personal contact between a customs official and foreign economic activity participants prevents corruption, minimises the influence of subjective factors, errors or abuses during customs operations. Currently, Belarus has implemented the possibility of releasing goods using electronic documents for the customs procedures of export, re-export, re-import, release for domestic consumption, temporary export, free customs zone, customs warehouse, and customs transit. And since September 26, 2012, the customs authorities of the Republic of Belarus have switched to using the system of automatic registration of statistical declarations and periodic statistical declarations, the customs office recalled.
