The Vitebsk Customs has taken additional measures to increase throughput during the Euro 2012 championship, the Vitebsk Customs informed a BELTA correspondent. In connection with the European Football Championship and the possible increase in passenger traffic, a number of measures have been taken at the border crossing points of Belarus in the operational area of the Vitebsk Customs to prevent queues of passenger vehicles and buses with organized tourist groups from forming at the crossing points. In particular, a "hot" reserve has been created to increase the shifts of customs officials and customs representatives, the situation is constantly monitored, and additional conditions have been created to improve the quality and reduce the time of control operations. The Customs has organised interaction with the territorial border service authority, as well as with the border and customs services at adjacent crossing points, and has determined organisational and technical measures to ensure the maximum possible throughput of individuals and carriers travelling to the European Football Championship matches.
