Servicemen of the 103rd Guards Airborne Brigade held a festive meeting with their dearest people on the eve of Mother's Day, a BELTA correspondent reports.
Mothers, relatives, girlfriends, and acquaintances were invited to the event. The soldiers showed their mothers around the barracks and familiarised them with their daily life. They also gave a concert for all the guests.
Mothers came from different regions of Belarus. For example, the mother of Private Mikhail Malinovskiy is from Gorodok District. She said her son enjoys serving here. "Like any mother, I was worried about him at first. The opportunity to visit on a weekend when he is on leave is very important for mothers. Soldiers are also allowed to make phone calls," the woman said. "My younger son is currently studying at college and may be drafted into the army. Seeing where and how his elder brother serves puts my mind at ease. I believe every young man should serve in the army." Mikhail Malinovskiy has been serving in the brigade since May and has already decided to transfer to contract service. "I have gathered all the documents. As soon as I joined the unit, I decided to stay here – the commanders and their attitude towards us are good," the serviceman noted.
The Deputy Commander of the 103rd Guards Airborne Brigade for Ideological Work, Guards Lieutenant Colonel Denis Kriventsov, said that this year, over 50 servicemen who are performing their duties with dignity received three-day leaves on the eve of Mother's Day. "The soldiers were given the opportunity to go home, congratulate their mothers, and present them with letters of appreciation from the brigade commander. Our servicemen are drafted from different regions of the country, so not all mothers can visit them frequently," Denis Kriventsov noted.
In addition, an event was held at the brigade during which all soldiers called their mothers. The mothers were also congratulated on the holiday by the commanders of the units where their sons serve.
