15 December, Vitebsk /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Christmas trees from Vitebsk will adorn the homes of Muscovites and Petersburgers on New Year's Eve, the Vitebsk State Production Forestry Association told a BELTA correspondent.
The first batch of 500 fir trees was sent to Moscow by the Glubokoye Forestry Enterprise. Contracts for the supply of another 3,000 New Year trees (fir and pine trees are listed under this general name in the assortment lists) have been concluded by 6 forestry enterprises. The main attributes of the beloved holiday will be sent to Moscow and Saint Petersburg. According to specialists, the demand for Belarusian fir trees among Russians is due to their quality, as they are grown in forestry enterprises on special plantations, without causing harm to forest areas.
For the residents of the Vitebsk region, foresters have grown 40,000 New Year trees - common fir trees, pines, blue spruces, and potted fir trees. They will be sold at 181 Christmas tree markets. The price of a tree will start from Br20 thousand.
