28 November, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. Vitebsk law enforcement officers seized 25 kg of nasvay, the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. Employees of internal affairs bodies detained an unemployed resident of the regional centre, born in 1974, who was distributing the non-smoking tobacco product nasvay among the city's youth. The product was sold from her home. Within just one hour of observation, police officers recorded five buyers from the lawbreaker. During a search of the apartment, approximately 25 kg of nasvay, valued at over Br10 million, was discovered. The prohibited substance has been seized and is subject to destruction. The case materials concerning the woman have been transferred to the tax inspectorate for her prosecution. Nasvay is manufactured by artisanal methods from harmful substances that cause significant damage to mental and physical health. Its main consumers are minors. In Belarus, distribution of this product is punishable by administrative liability. In accordance with Part 2 of Article 12.7 of the Code of Administrative Offences, "Engaging in prohibited activities" provides for punishment in the form of confiscation of illegally obtained income and a fine for an individual in the amount of 20 to 50 base units, for an individual entrepreneur - from 20 to 200 base units, for a legal entity - up to 500 base units (one base unit is currently equal to Br100 thousand). -0-
