Vitebsk rescuers are staging a spectacular show today as part of the "Unified Safety Day" campaign, as reported to BELTA by the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
A large-scale event for children and teenagers will be held at the Ice Palace, featuring interactive educational platforms on life safety from specialists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, OSVOD, traffic police, BDPO, BRSM, "Vitebskoblgaz", the regional organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Society, and the 103rd mobile brigade. In the outdoor area, everyone will have the opportunity to see special equipment from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, traffic police, and "Vitebskoblgaz", as well as their vintage cars. Equipment used by the city's emergency services will also be on display here.
Special vehicles from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Department of Internal Affairs will enter the ice arena. Under the glare of headlights and flashing lights, a real show will unfold: rescue climbers will descend from under the arena's dome, while cynologists and servicemen of the special OMON unit will demonstrate their skills. A theatrical performance titled "No Panic" will also be staged on the ice.
The campaign is aimed at fostering a culture of life safety within society, conducting educational and informative work with the younger generation, and promoting safe living conditions for the population.
This year, the "Unified Safety Day" campaigns will be held twice: from February 20 to March 1, and from September 1 to 10.
