On November 16, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. Vitebsk customs officers have seized a large consignment of clothing worth over Br4.3 billion at the Belarusian-Latvian border in Braslav district, the customs office informed a BELTA correspondent. During a customs control operation at the "Urbany" checkpoint, a DAF truck belonging to a Russian carrier was stopped. The vehicle was transporting men's, women's, and children's outerwear from Lithuania to Kazakhstan. However, the inspection revealed an excess of 5 tons over the declared cargo quantity. It was established that over 15,000 items of light industry products were transported in the vehicle, and they were seized. An administrative process has been initiated in this regard under Part 5 of Article 14.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences of Belarus (providing customs authorities with unreliable information about goods), which provides for a penalty for legal entities in the form of a fine of up to 800 base units with confiscation of the cargo, regardless of its ownership. -0-
