On November 19, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Vitebsk customs officers seized a cargo of dried fruits worth almost Br780 million, BELTA was informed by the Vitebsk Customs.
During a special customs operation on the 609th km of the Moscow-Brest highway, upon entry from Russia into Belarus, customs officers stopped a "Volvo" vehicle driven by a citizen of Belarus. The driver was transporting over 1.5 thousand packages of dried fruits with a total weight of almost 13.3 tons. In doing so, the goods were moved across the territory of the Customs Union in violation of the requirements of the Regulation on the Procedure for Carrying out Quarantine Phytosanitary Control (Supervision) in the Customs Territory of the CU. It was also established that the dried fruits, in violation of Article 344, Part 2 of the Customs Code of the Customs Union, were transported from Moscow to Minsk in a KRONE SDR 27 refrigerated semi-trailer, which is a temporarily imported vehicle for international carriage, and domestic transportation within the CU territory is not permitted on it.
The dried fruits and the semi-trailer worth Br200 million have been seized. Further verification measures are being carried out, and administrative proceedings have been initiated. -0-
