The fire occurred in a garage cooperative on Titov Street. A pensioner born in 1941 was spending his well-deserved rest productively, assembling a homemade tractor in the garage. On January 15, he also planned to dedicate his time to his hobby. Upon arriving at the garage in the morning, the man lit a gas burner for heating, which unexpectedly flared up. The flame ignited his oily work clothes. To extinguish them, the pensioner ran out of the premises and began rolling in the snow. During this time, the garage also caught fire, inside which were the tractor, empty fuel canisters, and gas cylinders. The fire was extinguished with the help of MES employees, who promptly arrived at the scene after a call from eyewitnesses. The man, with 12% of his body burned (2nd-3rd degree, predominantly the posterior surface of the thighs), was taken to the hospital. Adjacent garages were not damaged. The MES reminded that, in accordance with established rules, no more than 20 kg of gasoline and diesel fuel, and no more than 5 kg of engine oil are allowed to be stored in a garage.
