On December 13, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. The Vitebsk bakery plans to produce about 20 tonnes of confectionery products during the pre-holiday decade of December, as reported to BELTA correspondent by the Republican Unitary Production Enterprise "Vitebskhlebprom".
The enterprise will start producing confectionery with Christmas and New Year motifs on December 20. The peak workload for confectioners will fall on December 26-30. "During these days, they will most likely have to switch to a three-shift work schedule due to the significant number of orders," the association noted, adding that the plant usually produces about 1 tonne of sweet products per day, while about 20 tonnes of confectionery are planned for production during the pre-holiday decade.
16 cakes with festive themes will be available for citizens to choose from. For a long time, the traditional cakes "Skazka" and "Kievsky", last year's novelties - "Parade of Planets" and "Black Gold", as well as the 2012 novelty - "Podsolnushek" with halva, have held the leading positions among the most popular options offered in the pre-New Year days. The latest development by confectioners - the "Prazdnichny Kalendar" cake, released specifically for the New Year, will also be among the leaders, the enterprise is confident. The 1.2 kg cake with a shelf life of five days is made from sponge cakes with natural honey, layered with vegetable cream and boiled condensed milk, and decorated with a soufflé depicting a flip calendar. Two dates on its pages - December 31, 2012, and January 1, 2013 - will remind of the time of the New Year's celebration.
