On April 12, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The large-panel housing construction plant of RUP "Vitebsk DSK" has completed a production modernisation project, the chief engineer of the enterprise, Nikolai Machikho, informed a BELTA correspondent.
The project cost amounted to Br140.7 billion, of which Br96.5 billion was spent on equipment acquisition. The enterprise's modernisation was carried out during 2009-2011. The plant's facades have been insulated, the roofing replaced, and the technological equipment, lines in the moulding and concrete mixing shops have been practically completely updated. Modern lines of Italian, German and partially Belarusian production have been installed, and an automatic concrete feed system has been set up, which significantly increases labour efficiency.
In addition, during the project implementation, the plant reconstructed the manufactured house series: the enterprise can now produce high-rise buildings with free layouts up to 16 storeys. "Apartment layouts can be very diverse. We can fulfil whatever the customer requires," noted Nikolai Machikho.
The project implementation has allowed the large-panel housing construction plant to increase its design production capacity by 2-2.5 times to 240 thousand sq.m per year, significantly improve the quality of manufactured products and enhance the working conditions of the plant workers.
Further modernisation plans are related to the reconstruction of the testing ground (a separate open-type shop), and it is also planned to bring a second railway line to the enterprise to increase the material unloading area, with a number of other prospects being considered.
The enterprise was founded in 1964. Its main activity is the production of reinforced concrete and concrete products of the 111-108 series for the completion of large-panel houses. General construction products, commercial concrete and mortar, commercial reinforcement, and metal structures are also produced. The plant area is 17 hectares. It includes two moulding shops, two concrete mixing shops with a loading and unloading section, reinforcement, repair and mechanical shops, a technological equipment shop, etc. The number of employees is over 600 people. -0-
