The Vitebsk region will be allocated an additional Br200 billion for the leasing of equipment for the reconstructed dairy farms, Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich told journalists today during a working trip to the Vitebsk region, as reported by a BELTA correspondent. The Prime Minister noted with satisfaction that the Vitebsk region has revised its plans for the reconstruction of dairy farms in 2012 and intends to increase the number of farms with milking parlours and robotic complexes to 96. In total, 228 dairy farms are to be reconstructed in the region this year. "If previously the government had doubts about the implementation of these plans, then based on the data we have today and on what we have seen, we can state the reality of achieving the set goals," noted Mikhail Myasnikovich. The government and the regional executive committee have also found an opportunity this year to start the construction of seven new dairy farms with commissioning in 2013. This is in addition to the 25 that are currently under construction. Eleven farms out of 25 will be commissioned in 2012. "These works will allow for an increase in the cattle population and milk production. This year, the region has significantly increased the volume of milk production and sales with high quality characteristics," stated the Prime Minister. At the same time, he stressed that the region has a lot of work ahead. "A decision has been made to allocate an additional Br200 billion for the leasing of equipment and modern technology for farms. The issues with feed dispensers have not been fully resolved. The government has taken on a 'homework assignment' for the region's equipment. If farms are to be reconstructed, they must be done to a high qualitative standard," emphasized Mikhail Myasnikovich. Overall, 1.2 thousand dairy farms need to be reconstructed across the republic this year.
