OJSC "Vityaz" will develop its own network of electric charging stations for electric vehicles under the ISKRA brand, the company's marketing and sales department informed a BELTA correspondent.
The ISKRA network will offer charging stations with capacities ranging from 7.2 kW to 200 kW for alternating and direct current. The devices are designed to supply electricity to vehicles of all makes and other types of electric traction transport. The creation of an independent brand for the development of the company's new business direction is intended to achieve several marketing objectives. The use of such a model allows the company to engage with an audience distinct from consumers of products under the parent brand VITYAS, and to minimise the impact of the main brand on the promotion of the new service direction.
"Vityaz" aims to tap into the niche of so-called slow chargers. Network facilities will be installed in residential areas, business centres, and other locations where it is possible to leave a car parked and simultaneously connect it to an electric charging station. The joint-stock company has begun developing the new service direction in Vitebsk, where it has launched two charging stations in test operation in the vicinity of its own production facility. The immediate plans include the opening of the first branded electric charging station in Minsk and several more facilities in the capital's residential districts.
The company has developed and is completing the testing of its own mobile application, which can be used to access the service and pay for it. Access to the ISKRA network charging stations is provided via contactless cards pre-loaded with a specific amount of kWh. These can be purchased at the network's stations or at the "Vityaz" technomarket. Furthermore, the enterprise is preparing to provide round-the-clock online support for the ISKRA network, and will also develop communications with electric vehicle drivers to improve service quality and identify directions for further development, specialists added.
Concurrently, "Vityaz" will continue its cooperation with the national charging infrastructure operator RUP "PO Belorusneft", to which it supplies high-tech products under the Malanka brand.
"Vityaz" has been developing the production of electric charging stations for electric transport since 2017. Today, the enterprise has about 20 models of various modifications in its portfolio, which are constantly being improved. In cooperation with "Belorusneft", the enterprise is working on creating a universal complex with a capacity of up to 350 kW, allowing for simultaneous and rapid charging of several electric vehicles and electric buses.
Vitebsk Television Plant "Vityaz" was established in 1976. In 2010, the enterprise was joint-stock company with a 100 percent state share in the authorized fund. Today, OJSC "Vityaz" is a diversified enterprise developing about 20 types of activities, including the production of television and household appliances, medical equipment, electric charging stations and other high-tech products, as well as a wide range of production services. More than 1.2 thousand people work at the enterprise.
