At the XIV plenary meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the NGO "Belarusian Republican Youth Union", a new First Secretary of the youth organisation of the Vitebsk region was elected. Vladimir Babichev became the new First Secretary.

The plenary meeting was attended by Vladimir Penin, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, and Dmitry Voronyuk, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the NGO "BRSM".

According to Dmitry Voronyuk, this is a historic moment for the Vitebsk Regional Youth Organisation. The Vitebsk region was one of the first in the country to face the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Youth Union has proven that it is a cohesive team, a family that works together, shoulder to shoulder. Today, young people continue to study, work in enterprises, in student teams, harvest crops, and participate in volunteer projects. Dmitry Voronyuk thanked the leaders of the district organisations present, who represent thousands of young hearts.

Words of gratitude were expressed to the former First Secretary of the Regional Committee of the NGO "BRSM", Vyacheslav Khrol, as Vyacheslav Vasilyevich was active and initiative-driven, dedicating all his time to his work. Dmitry Voronyuk awarded him with a Certificate of Honour from the Central Committee for many years of fruitful work and the golden badge "BRSM".

– Working in a youth organisation is not a stage of life, it is a whole life, – noted Vyacheslav Khrol. – BRSM is a home, our family, which will accept you in any region, because there are like-minded people everywhere. Never lose each other. Look at the Komsomol – it is a worthy example that we should follow.

Alexandra Goncharova, Chairperson of the Pioneer Organisation, Secretary of the Central Committee of the NGO "BRSM" and curator of the Vitebsk region, thanked Vyacheslav Khrol for the well-established system of work with the Pioneer Organisation and expressed hope that the new leader would continue the fruitful cooperation.

The candidacy of Vladimir Babichev was supported by both the members of the plenary meeting and the Regional Executive Committee. He graduated from the University of Culture and Arts, worked in culture for a long time, and is a deputy of the Dubrovno District Council of Deputies. He has proven himself to be a competent leader and an active individual. He is a worthy leader!
