The Supervision and Prevention Sector of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations conducted an unscheduled inspection of the dairy farm in the village of B. Polsvizh, owned by KUPShP "Lepelskoe".
During the inspection, it was established that the general requirements for ensuring fire safety are not fully observed at the dairy farm, namely:
the use of wall finishing materials (siding) with unconfirmed fire hazard indicators is permitted on evacuation routes;
training has not been organised for employees operating heat-generating appliances, responsible for the preparation and/or execution of hot work, whose professional activities (work by position) are related to the storage, movement, and application of flammable gases, flammable liquids, explosive dusts, flammable solids, and materials; and for those involved in the harvesting of grain crops, preparation and storage of coarse fodder, according to fire safety minimum programmes;
a heat-accumulating stove is permitted for operation in the utility room of the dairy farm in the absence of requirements established by technical regulatory legal acts;
a fire safety information stand has not been organised;
evacuation routes and emergency exits from the dairy farm buildings are not marked with fire safety signs as required by technical regulatory legal acts;
the doors of emergency exits from sheds No. 1 and No. 2 are not equipped with locks that ensure they can be opened freely from the inside without a key;
the dairy farm buildings are not fully equipped with primary fire extinguishing means in accordance with the requirements;
the operation of electrical lighting fixtures installed in sheds No. 1 and No. 2 is not ensured in accordance with their operating documentation (protective caps, diffusers are missing);
categories for explosion and fire hazard for the production buildings of the dairy farm have not been determined in accordance with the criteria.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds that in accordance with Article 20 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Fire Safety", the heads of organisations must ensure fire safety and fire prevention measures in their respective organisations.
