This was noted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vladimir Makei, today at a meeting of the MFA Collegium on the results of the work of the diplomatic service bodies for 2020, in which Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko took part, according to a BELTA correspondent.
"It is obvious that new global and regional realities require, as the Head of State emphasized at the VI All-Belarusian People's Assembly, defining the current and long-term priorities of our state on the external contour," the head of the department stressed. "In this regard, the MFA has undertaken to prepare a draft of the new foreign policy concept of the Republic of Belarus."
Vladimir Makei also noted: "While maintaining commitment to the principle of multi-vector approach, the focus on developing dialogue and mutually beneficial, constructive cooperation with all foreign partners, we need to more clearly define the key directions of our efforts to develop relations with them. At the same time, the unchanged most important priority for our department and the criterion for the effectiveness of all our work has been and remains the foreign economic track."
The Minister stated that in 2020, amid a significantly increased number of challenges and the resumption of sanctions pressure on Belarus, not everything planned could be accomplished.
