The Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora informs citizens wishing to fish on the Western Dvina River that, in accordance with the Resolution of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus dated May 6, 2020, No. 7, a ban on amateur fishing will be in effect from June 9, 2020, to June 8, 2025, in the Polotsk district on the section of the Western Dvina River downstream from the dam of the Polotsk Hydroelectric Power Station, for a distance of 2300 meters to the borders of the settlement of Boyary.

Violation of this resolution entails the imposition of an administrative penalty in the form of a fine ranging from 20 to 50 base units, with or without confiscation of fishing gear.
In case of catching fish in a prohibited area, offenders will be charged for the harm caused to the environment, calculated at triple the rate for each illegally caught fish specimen.
