The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus, Major General Aleksandr Volfovich, and the Chief of the Defence Staff of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, General Sir Nick Carter, discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral military cooperation, the Ministry of Defence informed BELTA.

The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus, Major General Aleksandr Volfovich, and the Chief of the Defence Staff of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, General Sir Nick Carter, discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral military cooperation, the Ministry of Defence informed BELTA.

"The telephone conversation took place on the initiative of the British side. The emphasis was placed on the further development of cooperation in the field of peacekeeping activities," the Ministry of Defence reported. The department will announce specific decisions and measures as soon as they are planned and approved.

Also during the conversation, Aleksandr Volfovich thanked the British side for the assistance provided to the 432nd Main Military Clinical Medical Centre of the Armed Forces of Belarus. The Chief of the General Staff expressed support and solidarity in the fight against COVID-19.
